Background:

Nikolas Mikail Stavrosovich Cassadine is the son of Stavros Cassadine and Laura Webber. He was born on November 6, 1983 [later changed to November 6, 1977]. He has two siblings through his mother, a brother Lucas Lorenzo “Lucky” Spencer Jr. and a sister Lesley Lu “Lulu” Spencer. In early 1982, Laura was kidnapped by the Cassadine family and take to their private island. There she was force into marrying Stavros. Laura agreed as she believed that her husband Lucas Lorenzo “Luke” Spencer had died in an accident. Laura was befriended by Stavros’s younger brother Stefan Cassadine. Laura became pregnant but was unsure if Stavros or Stefan was the father of the child. Laura gave birth to her son and soon after given birth learn that Luke was still alive. Laura was allowed to escape the island returned to Luke. Stavros followed and died during a fight with Luke and Laura. In 1984, Laura planned on returning to get Nikolas but the one time she tried Helena Cassadine (Stavros’s mother) had Laura’s mother Lesley Williams presumably killed. To protect her loved ones, Laura told no one and went on with her life with Luke and had Lucky and Lulu. Stefan took control of bring up Nikolas when he turned seven years old and banished Helena from his life. As a child, Nikolas was both happy and lonely and he both loved his mother and resented her because he view that she had picked to be with Luke and Lucky over him.
